The restoration of one of only a handful original Sinclaire service stations left in Ohio.

Figure 1. 1937 Michigan state Road Map, published and distributed by Sinclair Oil
Built in 1937, this Sinclair service station is one of only a few remaining in Ohio that retains its original, unaltered appearance of the mission-style architectural design. While an original picture of this particular building in Seville has yet to be found, the image printed on state maps published by Sinclair in 1937 (Figure 1), depicts the building as it was built elsewhere by the company. An early example of a company providing a limited number of approved designs for their service stations to be built around the country, their goal was to create a sense of continuity no matter where you traveled. This illustrated image serves as a model for the restoration of this historic building.
* This project aims to restore this building to the point in time reflected in the above history.
